A culinary journey beneath the railway arches of Battersea, London.
Under the Arches - The Battersea Line Experience is a multi-course dining journey inspired by railway heritage, coastal trade routes of the 1940s and ’50s, Indian regional flavours and seasonal ingredients.
Created and served at Cinnamon Kitchen Battersea, each stop tells its own story through flavour, ingredients, technique and presentation.
Chef Sathish & The Battersea Line Experience
The Battersea Line Experience is an original dining concept developed by Chef Sathish at Cinnamon Kitchen Battersea.
From the initial idea and railway-inspired storytelling to the menu development, dish concepts and plating, the experience was shaped as a culinary journey connecting Indian flavours, seasonal ingredients and Battersea’s railway heritage.
Each course represents a different stop on the journey, with its own story, flavour and presentation.
The Journey - Seven Stops, One Journey
STOP 1 - WAITING ROOM
The Power station spiced brick
Inspired by Battersea’s brick-built industrial and railway heritage, this opening stop transforms a familiar Indian potato tikki into a brick-shaped first course. Made with seasonal King Edward potato and gentle Indian spices, it is paired with courgette tartare and sweet pea purée.

STOP 2 – PLATFORM PROVISIONS
The Chimney Column
Inspired by Battersea Power Station’s four iconic chimneys, this course reimagines Indian chaat through the landmark’s architecture. Four crisp, chimney-shaped cylinders rise from the plate, with their warm golden tones reflecting the character of the Power Station. Filled and finished with vibrant Indian flavours, the presentation connects the dish directly to one of Battersea's most recognisable architectural features.

STOP 3 – MERCHANT VESSEL
The Tidal Line Trout
Inspired by the merchant vessels and coastal trade routes that connected India and Britain during the 1940s and 1950s, this stop moves the journey from Battersea’s railway heritage towards the water. Chalk Stream trout is paired with coconut-tempered samphire and Bramley apple chammanthi, bringing together British seasonal produce and flavours rooted in India’s coastal cooking.

Inspired by the white vapour once rising above Battersea’s industrial landscape, this refreshing course combines British gooseberry and garden mint sorbet with chilled green strawberry and elderflower infusion — creating a light, cooling transition before the journey continues.
